The Troop were winners of the inaugural Military Illustrated magazine “Best Re-enactment Group” Award for their Waterloo period 12th Light Dragoons. In more recent years The Troop have depicted The 1st Royal Dragoons in England, Belgium, France and Spain. The successor regiment of the 1st Dragoons is, of course, the modern Blues and Royals – part of The Household Cavalry – and at their invitation rode on Household Cavalry horses in front of Her Majesty the Queen, as part of the Pageant in 2009 to celebrate the opening of the new Household Cavalry Museum. In 2015 amidst considerable international media coverage the Royals participated in the 200th Anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo where Alan Larsen was portraying the Duke of Wellington.
